Susan Dilger is in town

Great news! My friend Susan Dilger Susan Dilger is in Los Angeles to do a trunk show on Saturday, November 10 from 12pm- 5pm at Bloomingdales Century City , Los Angeles, CA.

Susan and I met in Los Angeles several years ago and she has since moved to Taos, NM where she is doing fantastic hand molded silver jewelry. She has great eye and style. You must see!

Hi John!

This is Joanna, the one who purchased your Louet Victoria last Sunday at the Handweaver's Guild event. I am wondering if you can help me out with something regarding the wheel - I have so far spun 3 bobbins of yarn on it (and I love the wheel), but the bolt on the main wheel which holds the bearing (that the Footman Connector attaches to) keeps coming out of the main wheel. This has happened 3 times! Each time I try to put it back in and tighten it (and I treat the wheel very gently), the bolt has come out again. I see that the reason for this is because the wood on the main wheel has disintegrated and the hole which holds the bolt is now too big for the bolt. I am wondering if you can give me the contact information (or any other available information) for the company you bought it from, or any info from the original invoice that can help me get a replacement part. It seems that the part which needs replacing is the main wheel itself, because the wood has started disintegrating where the bolt hole is. Can you please help me out? I love the wheel, but I am really needing to get this fixed, and this is still a relatively new wheel! Thanks, John! :)

I don't have a current address for you and haven't had for the past couple of years. I decided to enter your name on the Internet and see what would happen and I found your weblog. It's interesting and you must be having a great time. Is this your job or a hobby, or what? I would like to send you our Christmas card and letter. Jan

  • Spinning A to Z
These are a couple of pictures of my demo and the students in the Spinning A to Z class. This is a great class for the beginner, as it offers everything you need to know to go home and spin. We learned basic spinning and drafting with roving; discussed washing wool (not the right venue for washing a woolie), carded and combed wool for woolen, worsted and color effects; plying and finishing your yarns. At the end, for the students that wanted to give it a try, we spun silk from roving
